1. IntroductionResearch Fellowship (RF) scheme for Ph.D. candidates in Hospitality Management/Administration.
2. ObjectivesTo provide opportunities for advanced studies and research leading to a Ph.D. degree in Hospitality Management/Administration.
3. Target GroupCandidates who have qualified for the Eligibility Test for Ph.D. in Hospitality Management/Administration.
4. Eligibility- Qualified in the Eligibility Test for Ph.D. admission.
- Ph.D. registration by IGNOU or NCHMCT.
5. Nature of Assistance
  • Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/month
  • Contingency: Rs. 20,000/year (installments allowed)
  • Escort/Reader Assistance: Rs. 2,000/month (for physically handicapped/blind candidates)
  • Accommodation: Rent-free hostel, no HRA, or provision for independent accommodation (no HRA if not using hostel)
6. MedicalNo fixed medical assistance, but the candidate can avail of medical facilities available on campus.
7. Leave
  • 30 days leave per year (excluding public holidays)
  • Maternity/Paternity leave as per Govt. of India norms
  • Intermittent Break: Up to 1 year (for women)
  • Academic leave without fellowship (up to 1 year)
8. Tenure of Fellowship- Minimum: 3 years
- Maximum: 5 years (subject to progress)
- No extension beyond 5 years.
9. Eligibility Criteria
  • Master's degree in Hospitality or related field (with 55% marks)
  • Qualified Ph.D. eligibility test
  • Full-time Research Fellow at NCHMCT or affiliated institutes
  • Not drawing salary from any other organization
  • Must have Aadhaar and PAN number.
10. Joining in Fellowship & Ph.D. Registration- Join within 6 months from award letter
- Ph.D. registration must occur within 2 years from eligibility declaration.
11. Procedure for Disbursement- Joining Report and Eligibility Certificate required.
- Continuation Certificate (every 3 months).
- Fellowship disbursed via DBT to Aadhaar-linked bank account.
12. Aadhar SeedingAadhar is mandatory for disbursement of fellowship and other Government scholarships from 2016-17 onwards.
13. TA/DA for Research ToursEligible for TA/DA (equivalent to Assistant Lecturer level) for research-related travel.
14. Resignation from FellowshipResignation must be approved by the guide. Fellow must refund 3 months of fellowship if resignation is accepted.
15. Monitoring Progress- Performance monitored by the supervisor via annual progress reports.
- Fellowship may be terminated for unsatisfactory progress or misconduct.
16. Feedback & Publication- Must submit feedback report on research work.
- Publish 2 research papers (1 national, 1 international).
- Submit final research work to INFLIBNET repository.
- Last 2 months fellowship released after submission of feedback and research.
17. Paid AssignmentsFellows cannot take paid assignments during the fellowship period (except for leave without fellowship).
18. Other Conditions- Can assist in academic work (e.g., tutorials, evaluations) with guide’s consent, up to 15 hours/week.
19. Cancellation of AwardFellowship can be canceled for:
- Failure to complete coursework on time
- Misconduct or unsatisfactory progress
- Providing false information or fraudulent activity.
